Placement of Implant-Supported Dentures
The timeline involved in receiving implant-supported dentures depends on a few important factors. If you require tooth extraction, or if you need a bone graft, your jaw will need to heal before your dentist can place your dental implants. If you are receiving traditional implants, you will have to heal over a period of three to six months before your implants can support your denture. However, if you receive All-on-4® or mini dental implants, you may be able to receive your denture immediately following placement. During your consultation, Dr. Reasner can provide you with an estimated timeline based on your treatment plan.
Although restoring your smile with implant-supported dentures can require patience, most patients agree that the benefits of this solution are well worth the wait. Since dental implants are the only restorative solution that can prevent jawbone recession following tooth loss, this means that your dentures may never need the ongoing adjustments that traditional dentures require.
Types of Implant-Supported Dentures
Dr. Reasner offers a full range of implant-supported denture options. Because patients who are missing most or all of their teeth have already suffered bone loss as well, standard overdentures are not always an option.
For patients with adequate bone tissue, Dr. Reasner can place just four to six implants to support an upper or lower overdenture. The All-on-4® method uses four implants to secure a denture, although some patients need additional implants for added security.
Hybrids can benefit patients who have become accustomed to traditional removable dentures. They combine the stability of implant-supported dentures with the convenience of removable dentures.

Quality Restorative Materials
We work with the best dental labs in the country to craft the highest quality dentures for our patients. While this does take some time, our patients are consistently satisfied with the final product. Dr. Reasner prefers to use e.max® or Empress® Multi-Block materials because they offer an incredibly lifelike appearance. If patients prefer, he can also design dentures fabricated from zirconia, such as the Prettau® Bridge.
